General FAQs

Who can participate?

Anyone anywhere in the world from age 13 onwards is welcome to participate!

Fundeavour members who take part in the Spring Slam will also receive 1000 gold points as a participation bonus. Gamers are encouraged to sign up with Fundeavour first before signing up for the Spring Slam.

Note: If you are a parent or guardian of kids younger than 13 years of age who wish to participate, please email us to make arrangements. Kids under 16 need to be chaperoned at all times during participation.

Do I have to stream?

You can choose to stream or get your friends together for a private gaming session – whatever is most comfortable for you!

Be sure to use social media to let family and friends know when you’ll be playing so they can cheer you on and help you reach your fundraising milestones!

What games can I stream?

You can stream any game that has an ESRB rating of “Teen” or lower. This would include the majority of the most popular mainstream and Indie games out there.

For games rated “M” or “17+” you may stream it on your own Twitch or YouTube channel for the Spring Slam if:

  • You are 18 years of age and over.
  • It is not banned by Twitch or Steam.
  • You enable the mature content setting which will warn users the content they will be viewing is intended for mature audiences. This setting is available on Twitch and YouTube.

Please do not embed or stream any “M” rated games on your Spring Slam fundraising page.

Games rated “A” are prohibited.

Streaming content that is deemed objectionable will result in your account being removed from the Gaming For Pixels program.

Find out more about the ESRB rating system at https://www.esrb.org/.

Prize FAQs

How do Spring Slam gamers win prizes?

We use the “set and earn” format to encourage gamers to set and achieve a fundraising target.

Check out the prizes set for each fundraising achievement level, set your fundraising target for the level that the prize you’d like to earn, and try to reach the target as soon as possible before stock runs out as all prizes have limited availability.

For more details, visit the “how to win your prize” page.

Is “Set and Earn” the only way to win prizes?

We also have “Participation Bonus” rewards. For more details, visit the “how to win your prize” page.

Do teams share prizes?

No. All prizes are earned on an individual basis.

Why are some prizes restricted to U.S. Spring Slam gamers only?

For prizes that need to be sent to the winners via postal delivery, it is up to the sponsoring partner whether they would like to restrict the donated prizes to a particular geographical area as they would be the ones taking care of the delivery costs.

Why do the “expertise” or “experience” type prizes (e.g. Google Hangouts roundtables) have terms and conditions?

This is to ensure that winners know what to expect and what the prize covers (including any restrictions).

How do you determine who has won the prize?

RallyUp – the platform which hosts the Spring Slam fundraising page – will track and log participation sign-up dates (for participation bonus prizes). The RallyUp database for the Spring Slam page will also record the gamers who have reached their fundraising goals to win the prizes.

All decisions are final and based on the information provided by the database.

When do I know if I have won a prize?

If you have won a prize, you will be notified by email within one (1) week after the end of the Spring Slam by one of The Pixel Project’s team members.

If the Spring Slam is extended beyond 9 April 2017, you will be informed within one (1) week after the close of the extended deadline. If this happens, we will inform all participating gamers accordingly.

So please make sure that the email that you used to sign up for the Spring Slam is valid and one that you usually check.

How do I claim my prize?

If you have won a game, you will be emailed the Steam code or the pertinent download key to redeem your prize.

If you have won an “experience” prize like a piece of glitch art or a place at a Google Hangout roundtable, you will be contacted via email by The Pixel Project team, then introduced to the Gaming For Pixels partner sponsoring the prizes so arrangements can be made directly from thereon.

If you have won a piece of swag (e.g. a poster or a toy), you will be contacted by The Pixel Project team via email to confirm your address and other contact details. Your details will then be sent on to the pertinent Gaming For Pixels partner to fulfil the prize.

What if I have difficulties claiming my prize?

If your Steam code or download key doesn’t work or your toy/poster/swag doesn’t arrive, you can either directly contact the sponsoring partner (we’ll provide you with their contact details) or we can help connect you with them to get things sorted.
